Company name: Adzuna

Location: London or Europe

Pay rate: £25-60k

Terms of employment: Salaried employee

Hours: Full time

Description:
Perl Developer - remote Europe or London £neg + stock options

About us:
Adzuna is a job search engine that lists every job, everywhere. From launch
in the UK in 2011, we now have more than 10 million visitors a month and
are busy conquering the world from our office in West London. Right now,
we're seeking an experienced Perl Developer to join our world class tech
team in helping millions of people find better, more fulfilling jobs.

The
role:
Our engineering and product teams are pivotal to Adzuna's future.
It's an exciting time as we scale our existing product offering and also
innovate with new tools and user experiences that 'surprise and delight'
our audience, like ValueMyCV, which we're really proud of. Our
infrastructure is built around industry-standard open-source tools and runs
on distributed clusters, supporting 16 internationalised Adzuna websites,
as well as the 'Find a job' portal that we run on behalf of the UK
Government.

Based in our great Fulham office, (or remotely) you will work
with a smart team of back end, dev/ops, data science/machine learning and
product specialists, overseeing all aspects of our operations, ranging from
powering our international websites, aggregating classifieds from thousands
of external sources, to crunching job market data to power our statistics
and applying machine learning algorithms to enhance job seekers’
experience.

At Adzuna you will work independently in a fast-moving,
low-structure environment where you will have the opportunity to help shape
our technical direction and processes as we grow. An appreciation of the
‘DevOps’ movement is essential as we manage and monitor the systems
ourselves. Vitally, you’ll value the importance of building structured code
that is fast, scalable, reliable and robust.

The projects you will work
on will include new search features, relevancy and matching algorithms,
APIs and ‘big data’ analysis, reporting tools and features to enhance the
job search experience on Adzuna. Our systems have been built to scale, and
you will be able to demonstrate your experience in writing scalable code
running in distributed environments.

Our opportunity offers the chance to
build something to be proud of, whilst becoming a part of one of the
fastest growing businesses in Europe. We offer a supportive working
environment, with an emphasis on team-working, mentoring and training. It's
fun and fast moving. Join us!
