Position Title: MySQL DBA


 

Scope: This is both a development and a production job. Client requires an
individual who can reliably manage, maintain, optimize, and grow the
database. This position requires both the willingness to take ownership of
production systems as well as the ability to help create future ones. If
you don't have some of the skills listed, you will be able to learn them,
as client have full-time access to outsourced resources and are actively
using all of these technologies currently.


 

Technical Requirements:

 

• 3+ years of experience in MySQL 

• Multiple years of Linux or UNIX administration experience 

• Knowledge of programming languages (any/all of Perl, PHP, c/c++) and
ETL/reporting/batch/administration programming 

• Understanding of web applications and their requirements (aside from
having worked with Apache, good to have experience administering
databases/servers in a redundant, multi-server, load balanced and high
availability environment) 

• Knowledge and understanding of building and maintaining a "scale out" vs.
"scale up" database solution. 

• Networking, DNS, Sendmail 

• Linux clustering for load balancing and GFS/SAN's is a definite plus
