Lorenzo,

What you say is very true. OpenGL is still the only sensible choiche for =
some projects or on some platforms. It was the "only" choiche untill =
DirectX 10 on all platofrms=20
(considering DirectX 9 was had a much higher call overhead) .

Hopefully ARB will see the light and save the API, and companies like =
ATI will cease downright ignoring OpenGl, as one might conclude from the =
features implemented in their drivers,=20
and the speed they solve bugs. nvidia is much more suportive towards =
OpenGL .=20

Truth is, OpenGl is butchered slowly.

  Well, agreed.
But Bill's post explicitly said that he knew _some_ think OpenGL is =
dead and all the snuff ... in order to avoid those kind of replies not =
to call for them.
All my post was about is that Sylvain's position (being so biased and =
definitive in addition to be inappropriate) does nothing but harm.

The fact that is still the only solution for some platforms doesnt =
exclude the fact that the interface is antqiue, ARB is the slowest body =
on the planet, and DirectX 10 is just much more flexible and less =
clutered

Why not, this is so consensual nowadays I won't fight, but I'd put it =
in the opposite way :

The fact that ARB is the slowest body on the planet, and DirectX 10 is =
just much more flexible and less cluttered doesn't exclude that OpenGL =
is still the only solution for some platforms and has nothing to do with =
the Begin/End question.

I apologize however if my sadness sounded like harshness or hunger, =
this is not a flame war.
